So, I have been fighting with my ftp and WordPress for months now trying to get photos in my blog postings. I’ve tried and tried to get this to work and have been unsuccessful unless the image was already online. I finally figure the process out today, but only to find this awesome website of blog pictures.

I was looking through the hosted photos and found this one:

I did not know that Walt Whitman looked like this. Not only did I find a cool new photo site, I found a site where I find out what one of my favorite authors looked like. Waldon Pond was good to this man!

ACOBOX.com is not only good for finding photos to accenuate your blog, but you can upload your own photos. I submitted a photo I took of the inside of one of my red tulips this past spring. It’s a really bright red color flower with a bright yellow center.

If you’re a photographer, and I know some of you are, you should check out this site, who knows, other bloggers around the world may be using your images for the special touch on their very own blog post.

I can always tell when I talk to my grandpa what kind of day he’s having… In maybe the most sad way. I can tell if he’s in a lot of pain or just hating life, if he tells me he loves me at the end of the conversation. I know he loves me, but he’s not the type of person to say it. He’s said it to me twice in my lifetime, that I can remember, both within the last two years.

My grandpa is dying. He has had numerous tumors removed from his bladder, he has had stints put into both hips and both shoulders because his blood flow is so bad. He has a slipped 5th disk in his back, but his other health issues make him too high risk for the back surgery. He has always been one of the strongest men in my life and he’s wasting away before me.

Since there weren’t any good ones of us walking down the aisle, I added these. I love the look on Grandma’s face

Anyway, before the tears come… On to something else.

What… Oh, yes, that was me.

I have been bugging Hubby to clean the gutters for probably a week now, and we finally got most of it done today. Yes, we. I actally got on the ladder about 5-6 feet off the ground and cleaned out some gutter goop. (I have two witnesses!) I started to freak out on the 3rd rung (getting up) but I did it. I made hubby nervous so he made me get down. Though probably for the best LOL!

Earlier today I chopped wood that we bough into smaller pieces so that they can be used to start fires. Well, the wood we have is pretty moist, so in smaller pieces it can at least finish drying out. I have a prety darn good rip-roaring fire going now. I can actually feel the heat 7 feet away! LOL

Well, I should get back to work on a project I’ve started. - I take that back, I should work on my mom’s Christmas present. Maybe I’ll do that and watch some Gilmore Girls. Yes, that sounds better - it needs to get done, y’know, before Christmas comes!!!! LOL

To play with the fire, then watch GG and see just how long it takes Hubby to go heat up the leftover roast, potatoes and carrots for dinner. (I’ve done my part, I’ve reminded him 2 times already to go eat.)

Official Banana & Peanut Ban

How would you like to be told not to send Banana’s or Peanut Butter sandwiches for your kids to eat at lunch?

WE ARE A BANANA FREE SCHOOL!

Life-Threatening Allergy Alert!Weyerhaeuser Elementary has a child with a LIFE-THREATENING allergy to banana products. Please refrain from sending banana and banana products (yogurt, muffins, etc.) to school.

Yep, they’re still a banana free school, AND students in a specific 5th grade class cannot bring peanut anything to school for lunch or snack because a kid is allergic to peanuts. Banana kid and Peanut kid are related, and their parent even made it so that the PTA ‘Trunk or Treat’ in the school parking lot was cancelled because her ‘representation’ sent in a letter stating that her kids could not participate.

Really, your kid is in 5th grade and cannot control himself/herself enough to NOT EAT something that kid kill him/her? I can understand protecting children to some extent, but banning banana’s in the WHOLE school, is a bit extreme. I will send my kids to school with what I want them to eat or what they want for lunch. Your kid should learn to carry an epipen… or two. You’re lucky the small town you live in was kind enough to cater to your kids needs, you will not be so lucky in the future.
