Contemplation

February 24, 2009

I’ve been thinking lately of removing my blog – I’ve had an obvious lack of desire to write anything lately, and even less desire to write anything chipper and/or upbeat.

I know that no one enjoys reading a blog dedicated to gloom and doom, so I think my feelings are justified.

I don’t know yet, I haven’t exactly made up my mind.

Nerd Rant

February 21, 2009

Okay, so I’ve been playing this online MMORPG Runes of Magic and it’s been fun. Hubby and I both play, and we’ve joined a guild (group of people in an ‘association’) and it’s fun having other people to do things with and talk to.

I’ve decided that I need a break from this game -  a big break. Maybe Fee understands, (if WoW is like this game I play), you have a health meter, and creatures attack you, and you try to kill them before you’re killed. Well, this is apparently not a possibility in my case. I have died today, more times that I thought possible. My ‘debt’ or ‘vitae’ or, let’s face it, overall suckiness is currently astronomical. I’ve accrued over 20K twice today.

So when you kill something, you get XP or Experience Points and TP or Talent Points. Every time you die, you accrue debt, so right now, since I’m a certain level (overall xp), every time I die, I get 5,400 XP debt and 540 TP debt. Whenever you have any debt, 70% of the XP/TP you earn from killing things goes to paying that debt off – Think of it as a paycheck garnishment – it’s a stretch, but it will work.

Hubby says, “Start a new character and take a break.” — Uhm, no thanks – I’d rather quit the game because it’s so effing ridiculous!

Also, you’re able to do quests that are kind of like a story line, but there are also random daily quests – generally kill 10-30 of something and go talk to someone. Quests earn you XP&TP. Well, you’re only allowed to turn in 10 daily quests a day – so… Until the timer resets in 5 hours, and I can’t turn in more daily quests I’m sitting on 20K+ vitae.

I’m a nerd, and I’m okay with it – but this game SUCKS!

Finished?!… Already?!

Progress!

February 19, 2009

Xbox Rehabilitation Status update #5,250,009… okay, exaggeration, yes, but at least we’re making progress.

I acknowledge with great certainty that I spelled my title wrong, but that is okay with me. The title is as random as this post is likely to be.

That concludes the randomness for now. I am going to try to get more sleep then that silly little power nap from earlier.

Since I average 3-5 hits per day relating to this scam, I thought I would revisit it real quick.

I emailed one of our local news stations’ investigation teams and asked them to find out if what DataLineOne LLC is doing is legal or illegal. I’ll let you know what I find out.

For those of you who are coming here for information about the scam, please read my original post.

Since our past couple power bills from PSE are astronimical right now thanks to the price of gas for our furnace and hot water heaters, and we’ve been playing games online in the office, we’ve turned down the thermostat for the whole house and just use a small space heater to heat this one room.

If you don’t want to continue paying high bills in this financial crunch, get a small heater and it should start to drop your bills and conserve. ;)

I slept way too late, Hubby and I got a lot of cleaning done around the house, had a wonderful dinner at Taco Bell (we’ve been craving it) and we’ve been gaming together online since.

I suprised Hubby with a stuffed elephant and some choclates and some snazzy new slippers that he desperately needed.

Yep, it was a good day!
